Privacy Policy
Short version: we collect an email address if you choose to give us one, we use it to send you the thing you asked for, and we don’t sell it to anyone. The longer version is below, in plain English.
A note about children. We publish books for children, but this website is written for grown-ups. Our forms are for parents, teachers, and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.
Who we are
This site, colorverseapp.com, is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY] (“we”, “us”), publisher of ColorVerse and Echelon Nexus Press titles including The Star Inside My Blood.

What we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you request the free sampler, redeem a reader access code, or join the Learning Lab waitlist.
- First name — optional, only if you fill it in.
- Waitlist answers — if you join the Learning Lab waitlist, you may optionally tell us whether you’re a parent, teacher or homeschool educator, what ages you teach, which science topics interest you, what pricing feels fair, and what you’d want the tool to make first. Every one of these is optional.
- Anything you write to us — if you email us, we keep the message so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — our web host records IP addresses, browser type, pages visited and timestamps. This is standard for any website and is used for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies — see the cookies section below.
What we don’t collect
We don’t ask for your phone number, your postal address, or payment details. We don’t sell anything directly through this site — our books are sold through Amazon, and Amazon handles those transactions and holds that data under its own privacy policy.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
| What we do | Why | Legal basis (UK/EU) |
|---|---|---|
| Send you the free sampler or activity pack you asked for | To deliver what you requested | Performance of a contract / your request |
| Send you occasional emails about new resources and books | Marketing | Your consent, given by ticking the box |
| Record your waitlist answers | To decide whether and what to build | Your consent |
| Keep server logs | Security, troubleshooting | Legitimate interests |
| Keep records of consent | To show we complied with the law | Legal obligation |
Delivery of the thing you requested and marketing emails are separate. You can receive the sampler without agreeing to marketing — the consent checkbox is optional and unticked by default.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the site and send email:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| GoHighLevel (HighLevel Inc.) | Stores contacts, sends our emails | United States |
| Our web host | Serves this website, keeps server logs | United States |
| Amazon | Sells our books; see the affiliate note below | Global |
We may also disclose information if we’re legally required to, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
Amazon affiliate links
Some links on this site go to Amazon. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program, which means we may earn a commission when you buy through those links. It costs you nothing extra. When you click through to Amazon, Amazon collects information about you under its own privacy policy — we don’t see your Amazon purchase details, only aggregate commission reports.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work — for example, remembering that you’ve already entered a reader access code so you don’t have to type it twice. Our email provider may set a cookie when you submit a form.
We do not run advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may then behave oddly.
Children’s privacy
We take this seriously because of who our books are for.
- This website and its forms are directed at adults, not children.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
- We do not ask children to submit anything, and we don’t run features designed to appeal to children as a way of collecting data.
- If we learn that we’ve collected information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
Parents and guardians: if you believe your child has given us personal information, email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will find it, tell you what we have, and delete it on request.
How long we keep it
- If you’re on our email list: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period afterwards so we can honour the unsubscribe.
- If you unsubscribe: we keep a minimal suppression record — usually just your email address — so we don’t accidentally email you again.
- Waitlist answers: until the Learning Lab launches or we decide not to build it, and no more than three years.
- Server logs: typically a few months.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re in the UK or EU
Under UK GDPR and GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — that doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it. You can also complain to your national data protection authority, or the ICO in the UK.
Please note: our service providers are based in the United States, so your information is transferred and stored there. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard in our agreements with those providers.
If you’re in California
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
Unsubscribing
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. It works immediately. You can also email [CONTACT EMAIL] and ask, and we’ll do it for you.
Security
We use reputable providers, HTTPS across the site, and access controls on our accounts. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee that transmission over the internet is risk-free — but we don’t hold payment details or sensitive personal data, which keeps the stakes low.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant and affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll email you.
